This page is dedicated to those who have died from Brain Tumours and have been remembered at the Blizard Institute in Whitechapel, the Research Institute which we support with our funds raised.
They have a Wall of Hope (see picture), which is a magnetic board, which has 365 spaces, one for each day of the year. Each space is filled with a magnetic tile with the name of the loved one who has died and stays on the board for one year. This represents £2,740 for one day’s research.
Our ambition is to raise £1 million in 10 years and place 365 tiles to fund 1 year’s research at the Institute.
In conjunction with Brain Tumour Research, our parent charity, we organise tours of the Laboratory twice a year, for the families of those who have died, and will be remembered when the tile is laid by members of those families.
This Memory Book is intended to be a permanent memorial to those who have died, and families will be asked if they would like to contribute a picture and a brief bio of their loved ones, which hopefully allow them to share their thoughts and memories that we have all suffered and realise that they are not alone in their grief.
